Live At Home Scheme

Winchester Live at Home Scheme is part of Methodist Homes registered as a charity - No 1083995.

Fit for life

Our Fit for Life exercise scheme is aimed at encouraging those who have poor mobility or balance problems to continue exercising after being discharged from the RHCH Falls Clinic. We currently offer three services under the “Fit for Life” programme; a weekly short walking group, a weekly exercise group called “Exercise Plus” and an at home one-to-one exercise programme.

The Walking Group takes place every Monday at 10:30 am, leaving the United Church, Jewry Street. The group  is run by our Assistant Manager, Ros Simpson and consists of around 12 members who go on a short walk which lasts about an hour and ends  at a cafe for refreshments.

Our hour long Exercise Plus classes are held every Tuesday at the United Church, Jewry Street. Classes start at 10:30 am and  11:45 am and are taught by Mandy Moore who is a qualified nurse and postural stability instructor. The sessions are designed to maintain and improve posture, strength and stamina. They include sitting, standing and floor exercises, using various aids and equipment. Each session includes a few minutes of  fast work and winds down with some gentle Tai Chi.
